Man solves largest Rubiks Cube in less than eight hours

Kenneth Brandon (RedKB) had a custom made 17x17x17 Rubik's Cube made by  Oskar van Deventer to attempt to solve it and successfully completed it in seven and a half hours. That might sound like a long time, but consider this: on a 17x17x17 cube, there are 6.69 * 10^1054, or 66.9 quinquagintatrecentillion different possible positions. That's a 66 with over one thousand digits after it!

And all this time, I thought being able to solve a standard 3x3x3 cube in under two minutes was pretty good.
